Zapme Phone & Data - Services Information Summary

Description of this service

Zapme provides our customers with free messaging services. We also allow customers to purchase virtual mobile telephone numbers and data (the “Services”) in countries around the world, as listed in our Zapme app (the “App”).  Zapme is designed for, and intended to operate as, a companion or supplement to your existing mobile service and not as a complete replacement for that mobile service.  Zapme will notify you if your device is incompatible with our Services, if in doubt just ask us.

All of our Services are pre-paid and available in either:

  • a once-off monthly purchase; or
  • ongoing monthly subscription.

Subscriptions are charged monthly to your payment method or credit card on-file with our secure third party payment providers, like Stripe, for example: if you bought a data subscription on 17 August your next subscription will be charged on 17 September (“Subscription Anniversary”).

You can manage your subscriptions and purchases within our App and check the usage and remaining availability of each Service within the App at any time.  To cancel a Zapme Service, especially a subscription, you can cancel your subscription anytime within the month ro prevent any future billing.

Pricing and Fees

At Zapme we’ve kept it as simple and transparent as possible:

  1. Pick the country or region you want to buy a phone number or data in – you can mix and match data and numbers, as well as countries or regions
  2. Pick the type of package you want and whether it’s a once-off payment or you want on-going monthly subscription billing
  3. Pay and you’re ready to go
  4. Run out of data or your number package expires: you can top up within that Subscription Anniversary or pick another package that suits your needs.

Below is a single country example of Zapme phone number fee structure for illustrative purposes.  Always check the Zapme app for our latest pricing.

Calls are charged in 1 minute blocks.  Our rates are always available within the App by clicking the ‘What do you get?’ link which displays the value of the package when making calls, receiving calls or SMS as a combination of calling minutes and SMS (where available), depending on your usage.

Zapme phone numbers work with data, Zapme data or other mobile data provider or WiFi.

Local number calling:
The displayed call rates are for calling locally.

Example: Jenny lives in Hong Kong and buys a US Zapme phone number “The Moon” phone package and decides to get a subscription (versus a 1 off monthly package).  Every month this gives her: up to 1200 minutes if she just made local calls only; up to 3750 minutes if she just received local calls only; or 1000 local SMS; or a combination of those depending on how she uses the calling service.

Now Jenny can live like a local in the US and make and receive US calls and SMS’s and she can use her US Zapme phone number from anywhere in the world and wherever she has access to data, mobile or Zapme data or WiFi.

To calculate your available calling time (which is always available in the App), simply deduct the monthly telephone number charge from the package value. This gives you the available spend based on your call rates and SMS usage.

Example: if your package value is $9.95, your monthly number charge is $5.95, then your available calling time is $4. This means that you can use up to $4 of your package value for calls and SMS messages which are charged at the rates displayed in ‘See rates’ within the app.

International number calling:
Zapme call rates are displayed before you place each call internationally, so you can choose whether to proceed with the call. Call rates vary by country.

FREE Zapme phone number to Zapme phone number calling:
Exclusive to Zapme, when you buy any Zapme phone number for any country, in addition to the call inclusions above, you also get up to 500 minutes per month of free calling to or from any Zapme phone number with any Zapme phone number and from anywhere in the world. This exclusive offer applies to every Zapme phone number you buy for each month and renews monthly with any subscription package you buy.

We also show you how much calling time you have remaining in your month, as well as your call rates and SMS rates.

Billing and Monitoring Your Usage

At Zapme we keep it simple.

  • Every telephone number/s or data package gives you 1 month to use the Service.  Check our “What do I get?” with the App for local calling inclusions or remaining data indicator within the App.  These detail the rates we apply for using the Zapme phone numbers.
  • Any unused minutes or data will expire when your 1 month purchase ends or on your Subscription Anniversary. There is no rolling over or accrual of unused data or minutes.
  • All our charges are in US dollars (USD).
  • You can always monitor your data and telephone numbers usage and remaining time by going to “My Numbers” or “My Data” within the App, this displays:

My Numbers: remaining time in the billing month before the package ends or renews (if you have a subscription) and also displays the remaining call value – the green circle remaining.

My Data: remaining time in the billing month before the package ends or renews (if you have a subscription) and also displays the amount of data you have remaining in GB and the green circle and also displays the amount of time you have remaining in days in the blue circle remaining.

Top Up or Changing packages for Telephone Numbers and Data – How It Works

If you’re running low you can always top up your package within the remaining billing period of your Subscription Anniversary. You can top up your Zapme telephone number/s or data package at any time. If you decide to top up your package it will be available within the remaining time of that month.  The top up service is an additional fee. We will notify you within the App when you reach 75% and 90% usage of either your Zapme telephone number/s or data (see our notification “bell symbol” at the top right of your home screen in the App).

Example: Telephone Numbers: James has used up all his calling minutes and has 6 days left before his Australian phone package expires. He buys a $19.95 top up for his Australian mobile number and this value is added to his remaining time.

Data: James then buys a 3GB top up for his Australian data and the value is added to his remaining time.

Changing packages: If you change your package you will lose any unused data or calling value within that month or your Subscription Anniversary.

On-Ice

If you decide you don’t want to use your phone number for a while however if you want to keep it (rather than lose it) then you can choose to put your phone number “On Ice”.  We’ll show you the reduced price before you proceed.

Once you select our On-Ice feature this means your number will be kept just for you until you decide to use it again. Only available for monthly subscriptions.  Your On Ice reduced price will be charged at the beginning of your next Subscription Anniversary.
